About Us

Webb Pastoral is a diversified farming enterprise situated on a 648ha property, which also includes 40ha of lease ground, with a yearly average rainfall of 800-850mm. The property has been re-fenced and features internal laneways for ease of stock management, as well as native tree plantings for stock shelter and biodiversity. Infrastructure includes a purpose-built sale barn.

The herd is rotationally grazed on ryegrass and clover-based pastures. Webb Pastoral plants summer crops each year and uses fertiliser products designed to increase soil health and stimulate soil biology, which increases water infiltration and water holding capacity within the soil.

Webb Pastoral stocks 50 Black Simmental stud animals, which have quickly become a prominent player in the industry, amassing a herd of over 400 pure and grade Black Simmentals. The remarkable success culminated in setting an unprecedented Australian on-property auction record in 2011, with Webb Enigma E323 fetching an impressive $15,500. This record was subsequently broken in 2012, with Webb Ironman F512 selling for $17,000.

In 2015, Webb Black Simmentals decided to downsize, selling a substantial portion of the herd to Woonallee Simmentals in South Australia. As a result, we now boast a smaller yet highly select Black Simmental stud herd and have shifted the focus to expanding our commercial operations.

Webb Pastoral also stocks 300 commercial cows and 700 first cross ewes. The team is continuously seeking out the finest genetics worldwide that align with the Australian industry’s demands. By conducting comprehensive trials this year with Cashmore Nudie and Aussie White ewes, we aim to determine the breed that best suits the climate and terrain, while keeping a keen eye on the commercial aspect of this transition.
